Recording is at the heart of Crown Lane Studio. Whether you want to produce your entire project here or want to use our facilities to get the best drum recording, we would love to put together a solution for you. We have had over 700 satisfied clients (and friends) over the past 4 years, with over 70% becoming returning customers. The team here are all musicians so understand the value of studio time. We want to give you the maximum amount of time possible to really focus on your music and not the clock.

Our rooms are acoustically designed by Cole Jarman (Acousticians to the Royal College of Music) in partnership with ARa Architects to capture the most incredible details in your music.

Our gear is all lovingly hand-picked and always kept in top condition. From our brand-new (though stunningly characterful) custom built (in Kent) 24 channel Oram console to our SafeSound Audio Compressor, brand new SPL Frontliner and  Neve 9098 EQ Preamp with magic ’sheen’ and ‘glow’ functions – we will help to craft the exact sound you are after. Our equipment is all installed to making you sound your best.

Case study - Album on a budget

A band came to us wanting to produce a top quality album without breaking the bank. Here is how they did it:

• They booked the studio as rehearsal space for 2 full days at a discount rate
• All the guide tracking was done out of hours
• Production time (arrangement/structure/instrumentation planned)
• Drum tracking and bass DI tracking over 1 day
• They used all their own guitars (so no hire costs)
• Acoustic guitar and vocals
• Editing
• Mixing and production client present

£3000 budget split between band members and album sponsor costing the musicians in this case less than £500 each
In addition to these costs – mastering was undertaken externally (£250 for the album), as well as short-run duplication and on-line distribution costing a further £790.
